With Week 2 in the books, the fantasy football landscape for the 2025 rookie class is beginning to take shape. As teams prepare for Week 3, tracking these first-year players becomes crucial as their roles for the rest of the season start to solidify.
Here is the Week 3 edition of the fantasy football rookie stock watch, highlighting which rookies are gaining momentum and which are losing it.
Stock Up
RB Jonah Coleman, Denver Broncos
Although Coleman missed practice recently due to a sprained ankle, he was the most sought-after waiver wire addition this week, and his fantasy stock has clearly surged. With RJ Harvey already sidelined by a hamstring injury, JK Dobbins also left Week 2 with a hamstring issue. Both Dobbins and Coleman received 10 carries; Dobbins managed 36 rushing yards, while Coleman totaled 39 yards and found the end zone. Provided the ankle injury is not more severe than initially thought, Coleman could emerge as Denver's primary running back this week if circumstances align.
WR Denzel Boston, Cleveland Browns
Boston was not a highly touted prospect during the draft process, but he has quickly made an impact. In Week 2, he hauled in five of seven targets for 95 yards and a touchdown, bringing his season totals to seven catches for 154 yards and two scores. However, concerns linger, particularly regarding the quarterback situation. Deshaun Watson's skill set meshes better with Boston's, but if Shedeur Sanders takes over as starter, targets could shift toward Harold Fannin Jr. and KC Concepcion.
Stock Down
WR Makai Lemon, Philadelphia Eagles
It is too early to hit the panic button on Lemon, but his first two weeks have been underwhelming. After recording -5 yards in Week 1, he caught just one pass in Week 2. His season stats now stand at four receptions for nine yards and -5 rushing yards. While his talent is evident and a successful career is still expected, his fantasy value for this season is a growing concern. He currently trails Dontayvion Wicks in the target hierarchy and will need to pick up the pace.
WR Elijah Sarratt, Baltimore Ravens
There was hope that Sarratt would contribute last week with Zay Flowers and Ja'Kobi Lane injured, but he did not even see the field. That is a red flag, especially since the team was willing to give rookie Lane opportunities. Sarratt cannot crack the lineup even when the Ravens are deploying Rashod Bateman, Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester, and Chris Moore. His fantasy outlook remains bleak.
