THE Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals have been caught in a rowdy brawl.

This scrap has resulted in one MLB star getting ejected for the second straight game.

A huge brawl erupted during the Nationals massive 8-1 win against the Red Sox on Tuesday night.

Nationals pitcher Cade Cavalli, 27, and Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras, 34, got stuck into each other.

Cavalli struck out Contreras in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Red Sox man began to walk away as his opponent appeared to say, Sit down, boy.

READ MORE ON THE MLB Contreras then charged towards Cavelli on the mound as Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz, 27, unsuccessful attempted to hold him back.

He then attempted to launch his batting helmet at the pitcher.

The Red Sox were 1-0 ahead at the time of the fight.

Red Sox outfielder Nate Eaton, and interim manager Chad Tracy, were given their marching orders alongside Contreras.

Nationals pitcher Miles Mikolas, 37, was also ejected.

However, Cavalli avoided punishment as he stayed on the mound for another seven innings.

Cavalli defended his actions to reporters after the game.

I dont know.

I just lose my head in it.

Im competitive.

I just told him to sit down, Cavalli said, via ESPN.

[Contreras has] just been doing stuff.

In the first inning, he just runs past me and brushes me.

Its just something you dont do in baseball.

I think he knows that.

It marks the second game in a row that Contreras has been ejected after being controversially sent off on Monday.

First baseman Contreras previously jokingly blasted the Milwaukee Brewers after being hit on the hand by a ball.

The three-game Red Sox-Nationals series will conclude at Fenway Park on Wednesday, July 1.
