As the Baltimore Ravens prepare for their Week 5 Sunday Night Football matchup against the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, they will do so with Tyler Huntley under center. Lamar Jackson has been ruled out due to an ankle injury, and center Cam Jurgens, recently acquired from Philadelphia, remains sidelined with a concussion. Additionally, edge rusher Trey Hendrickson will not play, while Zay Flowers, Marlon Humphrey, and Andrew Vorhees are listed as questionable.
The Ravens hold a 3-1 record, but maintaining their momentum against Atlanta will require contributions from every corner of the roster. Baltimore's updated roster features 52 active players and 17 on the practice squad, and here is a position-by-position breakdown.
Quarterbacks
With Lamar Jackson out, Tyler Huntley steps in as the starter. Jackson missed all week of practice and was ruled out on Friday. In relief against Tennessee, Huntley completed 8 of 9 passes for 63 yards. Joe Fagnano provides additional depth. Jackson had thrown for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception, but the Ravens cannot expect Huntley to replicate that production. Instead, they need him to protect the pocket, deliver the ball on time, and capitalize when Atlanta commits defenders to stopping the run.
Running Backs
Derrick Henry shouldders the largest responsibility. He has rushed for 374 yards and seven touchdowns on 89 carries. Justice Hill has added 60 rushing yards and five receptions for 44 yards, offering another passing option. With Jackson unavailable, Henry becomes even more critical to keeping the offense on schedule. Rasheen Ali and fullback Lucas Scott provide depth, while Jonathan Ward is on the practice squad.
Wide Receivers
Zay Flowers is questionable after being limited all week with a foot injury. He leads the team with 18 receptions for 352 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 19.6 yards per catch. Rashod Bateman has 11 catches for 171 yards and a score. Bateman and Chris Moore practiced fully on Friday and have no game designations. If Flowers plays, Baltimore must involve him without forcing Huntley to hold the ball. If Flowers is limited or sits, the remaining receivers must create separation and generate yards after the catch. Elijah Sarratt, Devontez Walker, and LaJohntay Wester round out the active group, with Xavier Guillory and Gage Larvadain on the practice squad.
Tight Ends
Nick Vannett was signed from the practice squad on Wednesday after Durham Smythe was placed on injured reserve. Mark Andrews practiced fully all week despite a hand injury and has no game designation; he has 18 receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown. Matt Hibner has five catches for 70 yards and a score. This group can assist Huntley with underneath routes while providing protection and run-game support. Vannett's promotion adds a veteran blocking presence as the rotation adjusts without Smythe. Ty Pezza is on the practice squad, and Lucas Scott is listed as a fullback/tight end.
Offensive Tackles
Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten anchor the edges. Stanley received no game designation after a week that included rest and toe and ankle issues; he was limited on Friday. Rosengarten remains the other established starter. Huntley's mobility can help escape pressure, but the tackles must still provide a clean pocket. Carson Vinson and Emery Jones Jr. (listed as guard/tackle) offer flexibility. Practice squad depth includes A.J. Arcuri, Chuma Edoga, and Gerad Lichtenhan. Keeping the edges secure will also help Henry reach the line of scrimmage without facing immediate penetration.
Interior Offensive Line
Cam Jurgens is out with a concussion, so Baltimore's recent trade does not solve Sunday's center situation. Vega Ioane has been handling the move from guard to center. Andrew Vorhees is questionable with a foot injury, while John Simpson practiced fully on Friday and has no game designation. The Ravens acquired Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick; he will wear No. 64. The move gives Baltimore a long-term answer at center, but for now, Ioane and the available guards must handle Atlanta's interior front. Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic were placed on injured reserve on Oct. 3. Kyle Hergel remains on the practice squad after his standard elevation against Tennessee, and Andre James provides another experienced center option.
Defensive Line
Baltimore needs disruption without sacrificing run discipline. Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones, Calais Campbell, John Jenkins, Aeneas Peebles, and Broderick Washington Jr. form the active rotation. Jones has eight tackles, while Madubuike and Campbell have seven each. The primary challenge is preventing Bijan Robinson from finding cutback lanes and stopping Atlanta from controlling the line of scrimmage. Interior pressure can also deter Michael Penix Jr. from stepping into downfield throws. Campbell's Friday absence was listed as rest, and he has no game designation. Rayshaun Benny and David Olajiga are on the practice squad.
Edge Rushers
Trey Hendrickson is out with a finger injury after missing all week of practice. Tavius Robinson leads the team with two sacks, Mike Green has one, and Ethan Burke recorded a sack against Tennessee. The remaining edge rushers must generate pressure while maintaining contain. Penix can attack downfield when given time, but chasing sacks at the expense of run responsibilities would create problems against Robinson. Adisa Isaac and Kaimon Rucker remain practice squad options unless an elevation or signing is announced.
Inside Linebackers
Roquan Smith leads the defense with 34 tackles, a sack, and an interception. Trenton Simpson has 26 tackles and an interception, providing production in the middle. Robinson's receiving ability adds to the linebackers' responsibilities: they must fill gaps against the run, close space after catches, and communicate when Atlanta changes formations. Teddye Buchanan and Jay Higgins IV provide depth. Carl Jones Jr. was signed back to the practice squad on Oct. 1 after being waived from the active roster.
Cornerbacks
Marlon Humphrey returned to limited practice on Friday but remains questionable with hamstring and calf injuries. Nate Wiggins, Chidobe Awuzie, Chandler Rivers, and Keyon Martin are the other active corners. Awuzie offers a veteran option if snaps need redistribution. Drake London makes this a demanding matchup. The Ravens must challenge completions without allowing coverage breakdowns when Penix extends plays. If Humphrey cannot play, Baltimore's ability to keep its preferred coverage calls will depend on the remaining group. Amani Oruwariye and Lardarius Webb Jr. are on the practice squad.
Safeties
Kyle Hamilton practiced fully on Thursday and Friday and has no game designation after dealing with a groin issue. He has 33 tackles, while Malaki Starks has 23 tackles and a sack. Hamilton's availability gives Baltimore flexibility against Atlanta's formations and receiving threats. Jaylinn Hawkins, Keondre Jackson, and K'Von Wallace provide depth.
Specialists
Tyler Loop is 6-for-8 on field goals and has made all three attempts from 50+ yards, including a 64-yard kick against Tennessee. Ryan Eckley has averaged 46.5 yards on 15 punts, placing seven inside the 20. Those contributions can support an offense starting its backup quarterback, but Baltimore still needs touchdowns in the red zone. LaJohntay Wester handles punt returns, with Nick Moore among the kickoff-return options. Clean coverage and avoiding penalties would help the Ravens maximize their kicking game.
