Rams Lose Davante Adams and Poona Ford to Injured Reserve

The Los Angeles Rams have placed wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive tackle Poona Ford on injured reserve, the team announced on Tuesday. Adams suffered a ruptured hamstring in last Sunday's loss to the Arizona Cardinals and is expected to be sidelined for 6-10 weeks. Ford will miss the remainder of the season due to a triceps injury.

In a corresponding move, the Rams signed kicker Brandon McManus, as previously reported. McManus takes the roster spot of Blake Grupe, who was placed on injured reserve on Monday after tearing his ACL.

Adams' absence creates a significant void in the Rams' receiving corps opposite Puka Nacua. Through the first six games, Adams recorded 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns. The team's other wide receivers—Konata Mumpfield, Tutu Atwell, and Jordan Whittington—have combined for just 13 catches this season.

Ford, who appeared in all six games, contributed 15 tackles and a tackle for loss. His loss further depletes the defensive line, which is also dealing with a groin injury to Kobie Turner. Turner is expected to miss extended time but has not been placed on injured reserve.

Key Analysis

The Rams are now without their top two receiving threats and a key defensive lineman, testing their depth at critical positions. The signing of McManus addresses the kicking game after Grupe's season-ending injury, but the team will need increased production from unproven receivers and defensive linemen to remain competitive.
