Phillies named top trade fit for $151 million All-Star from NL West

The Philadelphia Phillies are a completely different team from the first month and a half of the season.

Recently, their offense has been firing on all cylinders, led by Kyle Schwarber and his tremendous power.

The Phillies have the fourth-best winning percentage (.545) in the National League and are likely to be buyers at this year's trade deadline.

President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski could be looking at third base as an area of need.

On Monday, FanSided's Robert Murray tabbed the Phillies as the best trade fit for a five-time Gold Glove Award winner at the hot corner.

"[Tarik] Skubal makes sense for them Dombrowski loves pitching but adding another bat, perhaps Alec Bohms future replacement, makes sense as the Phillies also look for another outfielder and starting pitching," Murray wrote about Matt Chapman's potential trade fit with Philadelphia.

After 2026, Chapman has four years remaining on his $151 million contract with the San Francisco Giants.

He is a two-time Platinum Glove winner who would vastly improve the Phillies' defense in the infield.

Currently, Bohm has -4 outs above average while Chapman is at +2.

Chapman's offensive numbers don't jump off the page, but he's hit 27 or more home runs four times in his 10-year career.

It was just two seasons ago that the 33-year-old produced 7.1 bWAR for the Giants.

It may be an expensive contract for the Phillies to take at this stage of Chapman's career, but that will all be forgotten if he can help them win their first World Series title since 2008.
