The Philadelphia Phillies will likely have some strong representation at the MLB All-Star Game, and with Citizens Bank Park hosting the midsummer classic, it would be very fun to send as many players as possible to the All-Star Game.
While pitchers can't be voted on, position players are being voted on right now.
After the first round of voting, the Phillies had some players among the two finalists (six for outfielders) at their respective positions.
Now, as Phillies Tailgate shared on Twitter/x, the second wave of voting has come in, and revealed some good news for Brandon Marsh, but bad news for Bryce Harper, amid some interesting voting updates for the Phillies roster.
Phillies get mixed bag after latest All-Star ballot update To start with a positive, Marsh was one of the top-six outfielders during last week's voting update, and that hasn't changed this time, as he's still a finalist for the All-Star Game.
But what has changed is that Marsh is now second behind only Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages for All-Star voting this season, as Marsh has 1,256,874 votes compared to Pages' 1,518,451 votes.
He's likely to advance to phase two of voting, and if he finishes inside the top-three of all vote-getters among the top six outfielders, then he will automatically make the All-Star team.
Unfortunately for Harper, such an All-Star bid doesn't look very likely through the fan voting right now.
He has 1,143,481 votes, which is a lot, but it's well behind the top two first basemen.
Despite Harper's cycle and overall incredible production this season, he's still behind Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers (1,779,538) and Atlanta Braves' Matt Olson (1,421,095).
Looking at the other positions, J.T.
Realmuto is in third place for catchers and Trea Turner is fourth for shortstops, and neither is likely to make up the ground to be a finalist.
Kyle Schwarber is second to Shohei Ohtani, and while Ohtani will make the All-Star team as the leading vote-getter, forcing Schwarber to be put onto the roster through other means, he's all but a lock as the home-run leader this season.
Bryson Stott and Alec Bohm are both still in second place, and Bohm's close to a lock to be a finalist, and Stott has to fend off Brice Turang, who's roughly 60,000 votes behind for the second base voting this season.
This latest update is good news for Marsh, but not so good news for Harper, who might have to make the All-Star Game without the fan voting this season.
