(WFIE) - Visit Owensboro launched its first Visit Owensboro launched its first Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit Friday with the USSSA Banana Extravaganza youth baseball tournament at Jack C.

The summit includes 11 sporting events scheduled across the city happening between July 10 to July 26, according to organizers.
Events draw participants from across the country and abroad Lucas Daunhauer leads Visit Owensboros sports destination development.
He says the lineup spans multiple sports.
We have a bowling tournament, tennis tournament, a Taekwondo competition, Daunhauer said.
There is the Cornhole World Championships next weekend.
Daunhauer says some participants are traveling from outside the United States to compete.
For example, the tennis tournament.
I know the tennis coach whos organizing that mentioned theres people coming from outside of the country, he said.
Organizers project significant economic impact Daunhauer says the event is expected to bring thousands of visitors to the area.
We have an estimate that there will be over 4,000 athletes, and thats not including their families and friends who will attend along with them, he said.
Including Lori Grantham and her family and friends who came from more than three hours away to support their team, the Western Kentucky Outlaws.
Were a Marshall County team.
Weve got one player from Paducah, 3 from Graves County, and the rest are from Marshall County, Grantham said.
Grantham says the quality of the fields at Fisher Park and the surrounding area impressed her.
Weve been to many parks that dont always put into their facility, their community, their surrounding areas like that.
And this park does, the Western Kentucky Outlaw parent and fan said.
So I think thats a huge attraction.
Daunhauer says thats the experience he hopes everyone has while attending the summit.
Our focus is to drive tourism into Owensboro and Daviess County.
And my specific focus is sports tourism.
So any sporting events, it could be youth sporting events, high school, college, travel, sporting events, and sometimes even up into the professional ranks that generate hotel stays within Owensboro that generate economic impact in our city, Daunhauer said.
Along with the many sporting events, the Bluegrass Clash will have food trucks, music and activities along the riverfront July 11 and July 18.
