EUGENE, Ore. — A top-25 showdown is set for Saturday at Autzen Stadium as the No. 13 Oregon Ducks welcome the No. 21 UCLA Bruins, one of the season's most surprising undefeated teams. The Bruins, off to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2022, are led by new head coach Bob Chesney, who faced the Ducks in the first round of the 2025 College Football Playoff while coaching James Madison.
Oregon enters the matchup with a dominant historical edge at home, having won eight consecutive meetings against UCLA at Autzen. The Bruins have not emerged victorious in Eugene since 2004. Fans are encouraged to wear black for Saturday's game as part of the Ducks' color schedule for the 2026 season.
Key Analysis
Both teams have plenty on the line. ESPN's Playoff Predictor gives Oregon a 38 percent chance of reaching the College Football Playoff, while UCLA sits at 12 percent. The one-loss Ducks are currently on the outside looking in, but remaining games against UCLA and No. 5 Ohio State offer opportunities to bolster their resume. The Bruins, meanwhile, are riding high but face their toughest test yet.
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore returned to practice on Monday after suffering a concussion in the Ducks' road win over USC. He was seen wearing a helmet, shoulder pads and throwing the football, per head coach Dan Lanning. His availability will be monitored as the team releases its official injury report on Wednesday. If Moore cannot clear concussion protocol, backup Dylan Raiola is expected to start. UCLA is preparing for both signal-callers.
"The other guy's not bad, right?" Chesney said of Raiola. "There's not a giant drop off between the two of those guys."
Oregon's defense has been stellar on third down, leading the nation with a 21.2 percent conversion rate allowed (11-of-52). In their last two games, opponents converted just 2-of-20 third downs, a 10 percent rate.
The Ducks will debut their new "Origin of Speed" uniforms, which feature unique details. Receiver Jeremiah McClellan suggested the new Green Strike shade, inspired by the seats at Hayward Field. The perforated numbers pay homage to Bill Bowerman's waffle iron shoe designs, and brown cushioning inside the cleats mimics Hayward's original clay and cinder track. The uniform's "O" includes six lanes, with lanes four and five distinguished to honor Spencer Webb and Khyree Jackson, representing their jersey numbers.
Offensively, UCLA has outscored opponents 179-75 through four games. Oregon ranks No. 4 nationally, averaging 47.5 points and 505.5 yards per game.
Saturday's forecast in Eugene calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 62 degrees, ideal football weather.
HOW TO WATCH: The game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. PT at Autzen Stadium. TV coverage is on CBS. Radio listeners can tune into KUJZ-FM 95.3 (Eugene), KFXX-AM 1080 (Portland), Sirius 133, and XM 197.
POLLS: Oregon opened the 2026 season ranked No. 2 in the AP and Coaches polls, the highest preseason ranking in program history. After a loss to Oklahoma State and a road win over USC, the Ducks are now No. 13. UCLA is ranked No. 21, and Chesney warned his team not to focus on the ranking. "If you pay attention to this number, it will go away, right?" he said.
ODDS: Oregon is an 11.5-point favorite on FanDuel SportsBook, with an over/under of 59.5 total points.
QUOTABLE: Lanning praised UCLA's ability to finish games: "They've been playing really good ball in the fourth quarter, really good ball in the second half, and really, frankly, pulling away from people when they get in those moments in games where they keep their foot on the gas. So, it's a real challenge for us. They do some really good things, and we're excited for that challenge."
