In the ever-shifting landscape of college football, where conference realignment seems constant, a few things remain unchanged. One is that Notre Dame maintains its independent status, and the sport thrives when the Fighting Irish are a dominant force. That is precisely the case now as they gear up for Saturday's matchup against BYU in Provo, Utah.
Both programs enter the game undefeated in 2026, combining for an 11-0 record. Notre Dame has rattled off 16 consecutive victories since dropping its first two games of the 2025 season. The Fighting Irish faithful travel well, and they will be well-represented against the Cougars. Among those making the trip will be the cheerleaders, who will aim to energize the Notre Dame fans and team despite the hostile, pro-BYU environment.
