The rumors indicate that this may go into the season and closer to the trade deadline.
NHL analyst Marco DAmico was the leading source of this rumor, re-connecting the two sides.
Connor Hellebuyck Trade Speculation The feeling right now in terms of a Hellebuyck trade is that it is the Buffalo Sabres as the front runners, with a wide gap to the next suitor.
They appear to be the preferred team for the star Goalie and have been putting together trade packages trying to get it across the finish line.
Talks reportedly stalled after the 2026 NHL draft, but recent rumors indicate a deal could come soon.
Teams outside of the Sabres who could realistically trade for Hellebuyck: The time remaining in the NHL offseason may be winding down, but there are still numerous moves that will be made.
