NHL icon Ron Duguay has been rushed to hospital after fainting.

The 69-year-old was found unconscious at home during his battle with cancer.

Duguays daughter Shay has revealed that the NHL legend was taken to hospital on Friday, July 24.

She has documented her fathers hospital visit on social media.

On Friday, he fainted at home, was unconscious, injured a few parts of his face, and knocked out a few teeth in the fall..

Shay wrote on Instagram.

This time, it wasnt from hockey.

He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

After extensive testing, doctors found that he was extremely dehydrated and had been struggling to eat because of how sick he had been feeling.

A video was posted showing NHL icon Duguay being loaded into an ambulance.

Duguay spent 12 seasons in the NHL.

His career spanned spells with the New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Los Angeles Kings.

He was selected for the 1982 NHL All-Star during a career-best 40 goal season.

Duguays hospital visit comes after he revealed his stage IV colon cancer diagnosis in February.

Daughter Shay explained that his cancer treatment had contributed to a build up in pressure in Duguays liver.

This backed up into his stomach and caused bleeding.
