'My last decision.' LeBron James' announcement on why he picked 76ers Akron's favorite son has made a decision regarding his next NBA home and LeBron James' decision may surprise some, but he offered a full-throated explanation on his X account for joining the Philadelphia 76ers.
Ultimately, it may makes sense for James, who has played for the Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers.
The 76ers are headed by Mike Gansey, a former assistant general manager for the Cavs who is now Philadelphia's president of basketball operations.
After spending 15 seasons with the Cavs, including the 2016 championship year, he has ties to James.
Here's what James posted on his X account: "I thought I was done when the season ended.
I wasn't ready to announce it, and I knew I needed some time to really decide, but I was pretty sure I played my last game," he wrote.
"I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and [decide] if I still love this game.
I still truly love this game, and I have more to give." "The last few weeks have really been special.
Ive never been able to have no clue what to do and take real time to just think.
Ive had an incredible few months with all the people I love trying to figure it all another championship.
"I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time," he continued.
