Miguel Rojas Retires After Dodgers' NLCS Sweep by Brewers

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas has officially announced his retirement from professional baseball, confirming the decision after the team's season ended in the National League Championship Series. The Milwaukee Brewers completed a four-game sweep of the Dodgers on Thursday, October 15, bringing Rojas's 13-year major league career to a close.

Rojas, 37, had hinted throughout the 2026 season that he was leaning toward retirement. He had left open the possibility of returning for the 2027 season if the Dodgers' front office offered him a contract and a defined role. Instead, he has decided to end his playing days.

The Venezuela native began his big league career with the Dodgers in 2014. He then spent eight seasons with the Miami Marlins from 2015 to 2022 before returning to Los Angeles, where he contributed to World Series championships in 2024 and 2025.

Over 1,401 regular-season games, Rojas posted a .260 batting average with 61 home runs and 386 RBIs. In 25 postseason appearances, he hit .233 with 14 hits in 60 at-bats.

In Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Rojas was in the starting lineup and singled in the third inning for his final career plate appearance. During Game 4 of the NLCS, he started at second base but was removed for a pinch hitter before coming to bat.

Further details on this story are expected to emerge.
