Miami Holds No. 1 as Ohio State Climbs to No. 2 in AP Top 25; Unbeatens Hit Historic Low

In the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, the University of Miami is the sole program to maintain its position, holding steady at No. 1 after a week of upsets across college football. The poll was released Sunday.

Ohio State, which did not play, climbed to No. 2, replacing BYU after the Cougars suffered a loss at UCF and dropped to No. 8. Georgia, Indiana, and Notre Dame complete the top five.

The reshuffling came after three more top-10 teams lost, bringing the total to 10 such defeats in the past three weeks.

Key Analysis

Miami, Utah, and UCLA are now the only remaining unbeaten teams in the Bowl Subdivision. According to Sportradar, that marks the fewest undefeated teams at this stage of a season since 1977, when only three teams were still perfect.
