The Mavericks continued making roster moves on Monday.
Dallas is waiving two-way forward Tyler Smith, according to Michaek Scotto of HoopsHype.
He averaged 4.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 12 games with the Mavericks last season, shooting 42% from the field and 28.6% from three.
Smith was the No.
33 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, where he averaged 2.9 points and 1.1 rebounds and 0.2 assists in 23 games.
He signed with Dallas in March 2026 after a stint with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League.
This move follows a busy weekend for the Mavericks, who acquired former No.
1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher as part of a three team deal that sent Ryan Nembhard (from Dallas) and Luguentz Dort (from Oklahoma City Thunder) to the Atlanta Hawks.
The Mavericks will likely use their $20.8 million trade exception from the Anthony Davis deal to take on Risacher's $13.8 million salary for next season.
The team also matched a two-year, $4.7 million offer sheet given to restricted free agent Moussa Cisse by the New York Knicks, keeping the center in Dallas.
The big man had a productive rookie season in 2025-26, averaging 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 13.9 minutes per game.
