Lakers officially sign Arthur Kaluma to two-way, waive Peter Suder

Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers have seemingly turned their attention toward addressing the wing and forward positions on their roster.

They signed Ziaire Williams on Sunday to a one-year contract, and on Monday, they got Matisse Thybulle to agree to a one-year contract.

In addition, they still reportedly have some level of interest in acquiring Jonathan Kuminga, who remains available in free agency.

The Lakers also decided on Monday to give forward Arthur Kaluma a two-way contract after he had a strong showing during the NBA summer league this month.

He has now officially signed that contract, and he will wear jersey No.

47 for the team.

Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN , Suder would be welcome to join the Lakers' G League affiliate.

"The Coachella Valley Lakers would welcome Peter Suder to their roster, a source familiar with the organization told ESPN, but understand that Suder will explore his options," McMenamin wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"The Lakers waived Suder from his 2-way deal to be able to sign Arthur Kaluma to a 2-way after [Las] Vegas." In the five summer league games the Lakers played in Las Vegas this month, Kaluma averaged 18.6 points in 23 minutes a game while shooting 60.9% from the field and 50% from 3-point range.

At 6-foot-7 and 225 pounds, he has good size to play the forward position at the next level, and he played solid basketball in the G League last season with an average of 13.8 points a game on 55.2% overall shooting and 37.8% from downtown.

He went undrafted last year after spending his senior season of college at the University of Texas.
