There's a reason many don't think the Lakers have a great chance to improve on both sides of the basketball over the next few months: their limited assets.
That's a problem within itself, and something the Lakers will ultimately have to deal with.
However, they do still have some other assets that could be traded, including Jake LaRavia and Jarred Vanderbilt.
The problem with Vanderbilt is that he still has two years left on his contract, so he isn't exactly a salary dump in the regular sense.
For the latest report, that's why teams are currently more interested in taking on LaRavia's remaining $6 million than in Vanderbilt's two-year deal.
When it comes to moving contracts, the Lakers have found teams more receptive to take on Jake LaRavias remaining $6 million for one year than the $25 million over two years for Jarred Vanderbilt, Sean Deveney of Heavy wrote.
I actually think Vanderbilt is a little bit better of a player than he's getting credit for in the sense of not being a terrible player.
I don't want to say he's great, since his offensive game isn't much, but I still think he has some value in the league.
The problem here, however, is that teams are now looking for draft picks attached to bad contracts, and Vanderbilt is considered a bad contract.
