K'Lavon Chaisson Predicts Commanders' Unlikely Super Bowl Run Despite 1-3-1 Start

Washington Commanders outside linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson has not abandoned hope of a Super Bowl LXI appearance, even as his team sits at 1-3-1 through five games of the 2026 campaign.

In a recent video, Chaisson shared his optimism with teammates, saying, "I was talking to the guys, and obviously you want to go one week at a time, and focus on that, but 13-3-1 is a weird Super Bowl-winning record, but s--t, we'll take it. Whatever it takes to get there."

Currently, Washington occupies the basement of the NFC East, trailing the New York Giants (3-1-1), Philadelphia Eagles (2-3-0), and Dallas Cowboys (2-3-0). Each of those division rivals has also endured early-season struggles.

The Commanders welcomed quarterback Jayden Daniels back from an elbow injury prior to Week 5, but their matchup against the Giants ended in a tie after Daniels failed to position his team for a potential game-winning overtime field goal. On Thursday, Daniels expressed a desire to grow from that mistake by being "more aware" in his late-game management.

Washington will aim to apply that lesson as early as Monday, when they face the undefeated San Francisco 49ers, seeking to ignite the 12-game winning streak Chaisson envisions. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET in Santa Clara.
