Apparently, a good old-fashioned road trip was all the Los Angeles Kings needed to find their stride. After dropping their first six games of the season, the Kings have won the first two contests on their five-game swing through the East Coast and Midwest. Following a 5-2 victory over the Capitals in Washington, D.C., with a 3-2 overtime triumph against the Islanders on Thursday, LA is suddenly playing with confidence, and Artemi Panarin is heating up.
Saturday's opponent has also found a groove. The Devils have won four of their last five, scoring at least four goals in each of those victories. Arseny Gritsyuk has scored in four consecutive games and is tied with Nico Hischier for the team lead with five goals this season, while Jack Hughes paces the squad with eight assists and 11 points.
