Kelowna Rockets sign their first selection from this year's import draft Rockets sign Czech import The Kelowna Rockets have locked up their top selection from this years CHL import draft.
A little more than a month before the start of training camp, the Rockets announced 18-year-old centre Jakub Frolo has signed a standard WHL agreement.
Frolo, from Vsetin, Czechia, was taken 33rd overall in the draft, a selection obtained in a deal with the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Playing within the Ilves organization in Finland, Frolo had 10 goals and 30 assists in 37 games with the U20 team.
He added two goals and seven assists in eight playoff games.
Jakub is a player we identified early and we were happy to get him at 33, said Rockets president and GM Bruce Hamilton.
Hes a smart, skilled forward who has shown he can produce consistently at a high level.
He plays with an edge, he makes plays and hes the type of player who makes everyone around him better.
Frolo joins fellow Czechia natives Vojtech Cihar and Tomas Poletin on the Rockets roster heading into the 2026-2027 season.
He will be in town when the Rockets open camp at the end of August.
