Judd Caulfield's First NHL Goal Propels Ducks Past Jets 5-1

In a Friday night matchup in Winnipeg, Manitoba, rookie Judd Caulfield netted his first NHL goal and also provided an assist, driving the Anaheim Ducks to a 5-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. The loss marked the Jets' first regulation defeat of the season.

Tim Washe and Mikael Granlund each recorded a goal and an assist, while Sam Colangelo and Nikita Nesterenko also found the back of the net for Anaheim, which improved its record to 3-1-0.

Goaltender Lukas Dostal turned aside 15 shots for the Ducks, with Kyle Conner's goal being the only one to beat him.

After Winnipeg cut the deficit to 3-1 midway through the third period, Granlund dashed the Jets' comeback hopes with a goal at the 5:54 mark of the final frame.

Conner, who was appearing in his 700th NHL game, brought the Jets within 3-1 when Mark Scheifele sent him in alone on Dostal for his sixth goal of the season.

Clay Stevenson made 12 saves for Winnipeg in the losing effort.

The Jets now hold a record of 3-1-1.

Looking ahead, the Ducks will visit Calgary on Saturday night, while the Jets will host Minnesota on Tuesday night.
