Josh Allen Breaks Bills' All-Time Passing Touchdown Record in Win Over Titans

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen added another milestone to his career on Sunday, becoming the franchise's all-time leader in passing touchdowns. The record-breaking moment came early in the fourth quarter when Allen connected with D.J. Moore on an 11-yard scoring strike.

That touchdown pass was the 259th of Allen's career, including playoff games, moving him past Hall of Famer Jim Kelly for the most in team history. Kelly, who was present at the game, played in 177 career games, while Allen reached the mark in just his 150th NFL appearance.

Allen, the 2024 NFL MVP, is in his ninth season with the Bills and has thrown 11 touchdown passes so far this year. Despite a slow start in Buffalo's 36-10 win, he finished the day completing 21 of 34 passes for 289 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

"It means I'm doing my job as a quarterback -- scoring touchdowns," Allen told WIVB News 4 sports director Josh Reed on the field after the game. "It takes a lot of people to take part in that, obviously the O-line, receivers, tight ends, running backs all catching the ball. I've been blessed to be the quarterback here in Buffalo, I don't take it for granted."

The Bills will next travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings, one of the top teams in the NFC.

Key Analysis

Allen's record-setting pace is remarkable given he reached the milestone in 27 fewer games than Kelly. At 28 years old, Allen continues to cement his legacy as one of the most prolific passers in Bills history, and his ability to bounce back from a slow start underscores his resilience and leadership.
