Jets' extension for Breece Hall is already aging well with ESPN's RB ranking

Jets' extension for Breece Hall is already aging well with ESPN's RB ranking

The New York Jets might not be ready to compete in the NFL's playoff hunt just yet, but they still need to build a competitive roster.

One of the keys to doing so is building a strong supporting cast for a quarterback, and they did just that.

Of their moves to improve the supporting cast, the Jets' agreement to a contract extension with Breece Hall was a very important one.

Now, with ESPN's Jeremy Fowler sharing running back rankings conducted through polls of NFL scouts, executives, and coaches, the Jets' decision to sign Hall to a new contract looks to be aging well, as the star RB is ranked inside the top-10 in the NFL.

Jets' Breece Hall ranks No.

10 on ESPN RB ranking "10.

Breece Hall, New York Jets," Fowler shared.

"..

Hall turned in his first 1,000-yard rushing campaign last season for the Jets, who rewarded Hall with a three-year, $43.5 million extension this offseason." The Jets' extension of Hall was a good one when it happened.

But now, after receiving this top-10 ranking, Hall's extension looks to be even better for the Jets.

The 25-year-old RB is now the fifth-highest-paid RB in the league after signing his three-year, $43.5 million extension.

That ranking should decrease, as Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs are set to land massive deals that will eclipse the Hall contract.

If Hall weren't ranked inside ESPN's top-10 running backs for the 2026 season, and they were paying him the fifth-most money of any RB every year, it would make their extension decision a bit more questionable.

Hall is a top-10 RB in the NFL according to NFL scouts, executives, and coaches, which has made the Jets' decision to spend $43.5 million on him look a little bit smarter.
