The Dallas Cowboys are set to visit Lambeau Field for a Week 6 Sunday Night Football clash with the Green Bay Packers.
Earlier in the 2026 NFL season, there was optimism that pass rusher Micah Parsons might return to the field for this primetime game against his former team. However, Parsons is still rehabbing from a torn ACL and meniscus sustained in Week 15 of the 2025 season.
Dallas traded Parsons, a generational defensive talent, to Green Bay before the 2025 season. In return, the Cowboys received three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks (2026 and 2027).
Longtime Cowboys owner Jerry Jones discussed the trade during his Tuesday radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan.
"We did not underestimate [Micah Parsons'] ability," Jones said, via team reporter Jon Machota of The Athletic. "It was reinforced when Green Bay gave us all the picks that we got. We're on plan with how we're using those picks. We want to have that show up in success with wins on the field. But nothing about that has surprised me at all. And we wish Micah the best."
Dallas enters the game with a 2-3 record. Their defense ranks second-to-last in total yards allowed per game (395.4).
The Cowboys and Packers will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Key Analysis
Jones' comments underscore the Cowboys' strategic focus on rebuilding through draft capital, even as Parsons' absence looms large. With Dallas' defense struggling mightily, the trade's long-term success will hinge on how well those picks pan out. Meanwhile, Parsons' continued recovery leaves Packers fans eager for his return to form.
