Jay-Z's LA Show: Blue Ivy Steals Spotlight as Super Bowl Halftime Rumors Swirl

During the opening night of his Jay-Z 30 Tour at Los Angeles's SoFi Stadium, Jay-Z surprised the audience by bringing out his eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, who showcased her piano skills. The appearance comes amid growing rumors that the rapper could be the next Super Bowl halftime show headliner.

Blue Ivy accompanied her father on piano for his tracks "The Story of O.J." and "Dead Presidents." This marked her second guest appearance on the tour; she previously joined him at Yankee Stadium on July 10, performing the closing piano solo for his 1996 hit "Feelin' It." That stadium run was part of Jay-Z's celebration of the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.

At the Yankee Stadium shows, Jay-Z also brought out a star-studded lineup of special guests, including Beyoncé, Nas, Eminem, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Jeezy, Swizz Beatz, Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Usher, and Teyana Taylor. The 30 Tour then continued with dates in London and Paris.

While Beyoncé did not join Jay-Z on stage at the Los Angeles show, fan footage captured her in the audience alongside fellow Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

Speculation about Jay-Z headlining the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show has been building, with some interpreting his recent live performances as Easter eggs for the potential gig. Puck was the first to report that Jay-Z would be the headliner, and Deadline later corroborated the news, citing industry insiders.

Roc Nation, Jay-Z's entertainment company, has produced the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell extended that partnership in 2024 for another five years. However, Roc Nation has not officially confirmed whether Jay-Z will take the stage for the 2027 halftime show.

The final stop of Jay-Z's 30 Tour is set for tonight, Oct. 24, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The venue is also scheduled to host the 2027 Super Bowl on Feb. 14.
