After entering this season with high expectations, the Toronto Blue Jays have underperformed in a major way.
The Blue Jays are currently last in the AL East with a 49-58 record and are set to be sellers at the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline because of it.
Due to this, one insider believes that multiple of their players will be traded by the deadline.
In a recent article for The Athletic, Jim Bowden predicted that the Blue Jays will trade Kevin Gausman, Shane Bieber, and Daulton Varsho.
"Yes, I believe they will sell and will trade their expiring contracts, highlighted by pitchers Kevin Gausman and Shane Bieber and center fielder Daulton Varsho," Bowden wrote.
With the Blue Jays being out of the playoff race, it would make sense if they traded pending free agents like Gausman, Bieber, and Varsho.
They each could get the Blue Jays a solid return in a potential trade.
Teams looking for pitching help should certainly have Gausman on their radar.
The two-time All-Star has struggled this season, evidenced by his 4-10 record and 4.51 ERA.
However, his strong resume should lead to teams still calling.
When pitching at his best, he is a real difference-maker.
The same can be said about Bieber as well.
The former Cy Young Award winner would have the potential to be a strong addition to a playoff team needing to improve its rotation.
The 31-year-old currently has a 2-1 record to go along with a 4.70 ERA in six starts this season.
As for Varsho, he should be a popular target for teams looking to improve their outfield.
The 30-year-old has seven home runs and a .244 batting average in 94 games this season with Toronto.
However, this is after he had 20 home runs in just 71 games last season for Toronto.
With this, he could be a good pickup for teams that need more power.
