FOX have revealed the top ten World Cup local US market viewing figures as the tournament reaches its halfway point.
It has already been a record-setting World Cup for viewership numbers.
Fox revealed last week that Friday, June 19, was the most-watched FIFA Mens World Cup Day in English-Language U.S.
History.
And now, as the tournament heads into the Round of 32, they have announced which local US market has led the way so far.
To the surprise of some and for others not at all, Kansas City, the home of NFL giants the Kansas City Chiefs, sits at the top of the list.
Kansas City led the way by a considerable distance too compared to the next best local US market, which was Boston.
READ MORE ON THE WORLD CUP Per Foxs numbers using Nielsen Media Research, KC had a rating of 3.80 and a share of 16 across 54 games.
For context, the rating is the percentage of the (TV-owning) population that watched a particular program.
Meanwhile, the share is the percentage of households actually using their TVs at that specific time.
Boston, a city strongly associated with the NFLs most successful team in history, the New England Patriots, came in with an overall score of 3.05/13.
Rounding out the top three was Austin, Texas, ranked narrowly behind the city of Boston with an overall score of 3.04/16.
Fans in the comments of Foxs post had some interesting answers for the results.
Nothing else to watch tbh.
The royals are abysmal, joked one fan of the Kansas City MLB team.
Another fan pointed out a remarkable statistic about soccer fever already being deep rooted in Kansas City.
The difference is bigger between 1st and 2nd than it is between 2nd and 10th.
KC is without compare when it comes to soccer, they wrote.
That fan is absolutely right, as in 10th was St.
Louis, Missouri, with an overall score of 2.55/10.

Its also no surprise to see Boston so high on the list after Scotlands Tartan Army captured the hearts of the city.
