Former Vols QB Joey Aguilar provides unforgettable experience for Chattanooga kids

For so many young Tennessee Volunteer fans, the Vols players are like icons.

And that is certainly the case with last season's star quarterback, Joey Aguilar.

In 2025, Aguilar racked up 3,565 passing yards and 24 touchdowns, both top-5 marks in the SEC.

Aguilar began his college career at City College of San Francisco (JUCO), before transferring to Diablo Valley (JUCO), before transferring to Appalachian State, before eventually landing in Knoxville ahead of the 2025 season.

Now, he's a quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars and an inspiration to so many kids throughout the nation, especially here in Chattanooga.

But Sunday, at his Youth Football Camp operated by FlexWork Sports at East Hamilton High School, Aguilar acted more like a kid playing ball in the yard than a star quarterback.

The kids look at us like these higher type of people, but at the end of the day, I'm living life just like they are," Aguilar said.

"To give back, that's my goal and I'm going to try and continue to do that...

I'm just a kid like they are.

Aguilar spent about three hours playing football with local kids, and many of the young participants called the experience the best of their lives.

Aguilar made time for everyone.
