In his age-30 season, Douglas recorded 62 tackles, 1 sack, 13 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions in 13 starts.
He had a bounce-back year in comparison to his previous campaign with the Buffalo Bills.
It is no shock that Miami refused to entertain the idea of bringing back the talented corner.
Douglas will be 31 before the season starts and is a stopgap player meant to be a functional piece of a team making a run to the playoffs.

Darrell Baker , Marco Wilson , and Alex Austin are the same type of signings that Jack Jones and JuJu Brents were prior to the 2025 season.
They will be given a chance to compete for starting spots and potentially impress their way to future extensions.
Miami also drafted cornerback Chris Johnson in round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, who had a similar body type and skillset to Rasul Douglas.
Even with his fantastic season on the boundary for the Dolphins last year, his impact at the cornerback position wasnt enough to will the team to a playoff run.
Those expectations rest on the coaching staff and quarterback, for the most part.
Fans should wish Douglas the best in his season with the Commanders.
He could potentially play in the preseason week 1 matchup with his former team.
