The New Orleans Saints made a roster move on September 23, signing long snapper Cal Adomitis off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad. Adomitis, who previously handled long snapping duties for the Cincinnati Bengals, now joins the Saints' active roster.
The Bengals are set to host the Saints in a Week 12 matchup on November 29 at Paycor Stadium, setting the stage for Adomitis to potentially face his former team.
Adomitis appeared in 58 regular-season games over three seasons with Cincinnati before being waived during the team's final roster cuts ahead of the 2025 preseason deadline. At that time, the Bengals named then-rookie Will Wagner as their new long snapper.
In addition to his regular-season work, Adomitis saw action in all three of the Bengals' postseason games during their AFC championship run in 2022. He originally joined Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft and was signed off the practice squad later that year when the team placed long snapper Clark Harris on injured reserve.
Most recently, Adomitis played in nine games for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025. He also spent time during the 2026 offseason with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, and Dolphins before landing with New Orleans.
Key Analysis
Adomitis's signing with the Saints adds an intriguing storyline to the Week 12 matchup, as he could line up against the organization that gave him his first NFL opportunity. His experience, including postseason appearances, provides depth and reliability to New Orleans' special teams unit.
