The NFL is rolling out its annual Top 100 list in preparation for the 2026 season, recognizing the league's best as voted on by active players.
On Monday, the NFL announced its No.
69 ranked player and it was a name that many football fans expected to hear much later on.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson took the No.
69 spot his lowest position since 2023 (just before his second MVP season).
In 2024 and 2025, the three-time First Team All-Pro signal caller held No.
2 position.
Jackson was hampered by injury issues throughout the 2025 season, missing four games as the Ravens went 8-9 and missed the playoffs.
Through 13 game appearances, he finished the year with 2,549 passing yards and 21 passing touchdowns, as well as career lows in both rushing yards (349) and rushing touchdowns (2).
NFL fans were stunned by Jackson's dramatic plunge in the Top 100 rankings.
"Lamar Jackson is one of the 10 best players in the nfl regardless of position.
This is insane," one wrote.
"You think theres 68 better players than Lamar ?!?!" another asked.
"This list had lost all credibility," another said.
"Can we finally all admit that NFL players are worse at evaluating their peers than fans are? 68 better players in the NFL than Lamar Jackson? Moronic," another added.
Jackson will have the opportunity to prove himself as one of the league's best players when he and the Ravens take the field for their Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept.
13.
