Ex-Dolphins LB Announces Retirement in Social Media Post An old friend and familiar face is calling it quits on his NFL career for good.

Long-time pro linebacker Raekwon McMillan announced in a post on Instagram that hes retiring from the big leagues.

He attached to the post a bunch of memorable photos from his time in the league, including a flick of him celebrating with Dolphins fans at Hard Rock Stadium.

McMillan spent a total of eight seasons in the NFL.

In that time, he suited up for the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders and of course Miami Dolphins.

Its in Miami where McMillan just so happened to get his first chance to play at the highest level, as the Dolphins drafted him out of Ohio State University with a second-round pick back in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He spent just two seasons with the team but was a consistent starter (he started in 28 of 29 regular-season games) and made an impact right out of the gate, compiling 105 combined tackles and playing in all 16 games as a rookie in 2018.

His time with the Dolphins came to a close around the start of this decade, when they shipped him off as well as a 2021 fifth-round pick to the Raiders for a fourth-rounder in that same draft.

Brian Flores was the head coach for Miami at the time, and he was the one to actually confirm the news of the trade to the media.

McMillan last suited up in an NFL game with the Titans back in the 2024 regular season.

He played in the teams final two games in what was a lost 3-14 season and recorded one tackle in his swan song at the pro level.

Even though McMillan just recently officially retired, the writing was on the wall for his NFL career long before then, and heres hoping hell enjoy life after football.
