The Edwardsville Glen Carbon Little League Association honored longtime board member and umpire Terry Hartley during a June 11 ceremony at Leclaire Field in Edwardsville.
Before the 6 p.m.
game, EGCLLA Commissioner Paul Johnes presented a plaque to Hartleys family.
Hartleys grandson, Si, threw the ceremonial first pitch to his father and Hartleys son, Nathan.
Hartley died Dec.
10, 2025, in Edwardsville.
He was 70.
Hartley served on the EGCLLA board from 1989 through 2019.
His responsibilities included coordinating umpire schedules and organizing the leagues annual preseason parade until the event was discontinued.
A 1973 Edwardsville High School graduate, Hartley competed in football, basketball, baseball and track and field.
He later attended Culver-Stockton College on a football scholarship.
Hartley is survived by his wife, Janice (Simmermaker) Hartley; son Nate Hartley and daughter-in-law Andrea; daughter Tara Robertson and son-in-law Drew; and five grandchildren.
The EGCLLA is honoring Hartley throughout the 2026 season with a HART memorial patch on the sleeve of every Little League uniform.
