The Reading Royals announced that theyve re-signed defenseman Miles Gendron for the 2026-27 season.
Gendron, 30, was a third-round, 70th overall, selection by the Ottawa Senators at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Gendron is heading into his second consecutive season with the Royals and eighth season playing in the ECHL.
Over the course of his ECHL career, he has played with Brampton Beast, Newfoundland Growlers, Utah Grizzlies, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and Reading Royals.
In 240 ECHL games, he has recorded 24 goals and 50 assists for 74 points.
He has added seven assists in 21 Kelly Cup Playoff games throughout his career.
Gendron has also appeared in AHL games with the Belleville Senators and Colorado Eagles.
In 16 AHL games, he recorded two goals and one assist.
The Oakville, Ontario, native has also spent two seasons playing overseas.
Gendron spent the 2023-24 season playing in the EIHL with the Belfast Giants.
He played in 19 games with the Giants, recording one assist.
Gendron started the 2022-23 season playing in Norway with the Storhamar.
In 19 games with the Storhamar, he recorded three goals and five assists.
Prior to going pro, Gendron played four seasons of Division I hockey at the University of Connecticut.
He played in 126 games with the UConn Huskies, recording ten goals and 23 assists.
During his last season with the Huskies, he earned the role of team captain.
Before playing at the NCAA level, Miles Gendron played one season in the BCHL with the Penticton Vees.
In 54 games with the Vees, he recorded five goals and 12 assists for 17 points.
He added 12 assists in 22 playoff games with the Vees.
