ECHL: Ivan Chukarov Signs In Germany

Savannah Ghost Pirates defenseman Ivan Chukarov is heading overseas to Germany to join Eisadler Dortmund (Germany4).

Chukarov, 31, began the season in the EIHL with the Belfast Giants, where he had two goals and seven assists for nine points in 23 games, while also playing in four playoff games.

He would add three assists in seven games during the EIHL Cup.

In February, Chuakarov signed with the Bloomington Bison, where he had one assist in eight games before being traded to the Savannah Ghost Pirates.

During his time with the Ghost Pirates, he had five assists in 13 games, while playing in four games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Chukarov becomes the third member of the Ghost Pirates to take the overseas route since the season ended, joining Scout Truman and Nicholas Zabaneh.

The Des Plaines, Illinois, native was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round of the 2015 NHL draft, but has spent the last seven seasons in the ECHL with the five different teams.

Over the course of his seven seasons in the ECHL, Chukarov has put up 18 goals and 81 assists for 99 points in 307 games.

Hes added an assist in 16 career Kelly Cup Playoff games.

Chukarov played in his one and only AHL game with the Utica Comets on December 31st, 2022.
