After two seasons competing in the ECHL, Reading Royals forward Jacob Frasca has decided to continue his hockey career at the collegiate level, committing to Merrimack College's men's hockey program. The 23-year-old from Brampton, Ontario, made the announcement via social media on August 3, 2026.
During the 2025-26 season with Reading, Frasca tallied 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points in 63 games, while also accumulating 113 penalty minutes. He added one assist in five Kelly Cup Playoff contests. In his rookie ECHL campaign with the Cincinnati Cyclones, he registered five goals and 10 assists for 15 points across 53 games.
Frasca's move to the NCAA sets up a potential family reunion on the ice, as he played alongside his older brother Jordan with Reading last season. Next year, he could face his younger brother Gabriel, who currently plays for Quinnipiac University.
