Cubs, Mets Reportedly Make Surprise Trade for Pitcher After Double-Header The New York Mets traded left-handed pitcher David Peterson to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday night, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
New York received minor-leaguer Cole Mathis from Chicago as part of the swap, per Will Sammon of The Athletic.
The Cubs and Mets are familiar with each other as of late, with the two teams wrapping up a double-header earlier on Wednesday.
Chicago won both games.
