CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Matt Coronato enjoyed a career-best four-point performance, netting one goal and adding three assists, to power the Calgary Flames to a 6-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Friday night.
Joel Farabee contributed a goal and two assists for the Flames, who secured their fifth consecutive home win. Morgan Frost and Matvei Gridin each registered a goal and an assist, while Aydar Suniev and Ryan Strome also found the back of the net for Calgary.
For Seattle, Freddy Gaudreau scored his team-leading seventh goal, and Mackie Samoskevich also tallied. The Kraken had previously dominated Calgary in the opening week of the season, winning both meetings by a 6-1 margin.
Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf, making his first start since October 15, turned aside 20 shots to earn the win and improve his record to 2-4-0. Philipp Grubauer started in net for Seattle but was pulled after surrendering four goals on 14 shots. Joey Daccord came on in relief and made 11 saves.
Mikael Backlund's assist on Farabee's goal gave him 610 career points (234 goals, 376 assists), moving him past Johnny Gaudreau into sole possession of fifth place on Calgary's all-time scoring list. He now sits six points behind Joe Nieuwendyk for fourth place.
The Flames, who never trailed, converted both of their power-play opportunities and have now scored nine times on 20 man-advantage chances over their last seven games. Seattle, meanwhile, has allowed 10 power-play goals on 17 penalties in its last six contests.
Calgary entered the game after a 4-0 loss at Edmonton on Wednesday that snapped their four-game winning streak.
