Chaska's Tyler Forrest Nears College Decision, Eyes Repeat 4A Championship

Tyler Forrest, a 6-foot-3 guard from Chaska High School, ranks among Minnesota's premier high school basketball talents. The Class of 2027 prospect is on the verge of selecting a Division I school, which will allow him to fully concentrate on guiding the Hawks back to a Class 4A state championship.

Darren 'Doogie' Wolfson of KSTP recently spoke with Forrest about his recruitment. The senior holds offers from St. Thomas, South Dakota State, Ohio, Sam Houston State, and North Dakota.

Unlike some top local players who have transferred during high school, Forrest has remained loyal to his hometown community. That dedication paid off last March when he propelled the Hawks to a 4A state title at Williams Arena, capping a season that ended with a 25-game winning streak. This marked a dramatic turnaround from his sophomore year, when the team managed just 11 victories.
