Few anticipated that the 0-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting undrafted rookie Jaylon Daniels at quarterback, would march into Jerry World and topple the Dallas Cowboys. Yet that is exactly what unfolded on Thursday Night Football, as the Buccaneers secured a 24-16 victory.
Tampa Bay's veteran playmakers rose to the occasion in support of their young signal-caller. Running back Bucky Irving gashed the Dallas defense for 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while wide receiver Emeka Egbuka hauled in a team-high six receptions for 36 yards and also contributed a rushing touchdown of his own.
The win not only marked Tampa Bay's first of the season but also likely alleviated some of the mounting pressure on head coach Todd Bowles, whose job security appeared precarious after the team's disastrous start to the year.
Looking ahead, the Buccaneers will face the Pittsburgh Steelers as they aim to stay competitive while awaiting the return of quarterback Baker Mayfield.
