The Denver Broncos have made a roster adjustment at the cornerback position, bringing in seasoned player Sam Webb after releasing undrafted rookie Blake Cotton, who was waived on July 30 with an injury settlement.
Cotton sustained a hamstring injury during Wednesday's practice session, leading to his departure from the team. The transaction was confirmed by Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette, who announced on X that Webb would join the squad and practice on Friday.
Webb, who has been in the league since 2022, has appeared in 36 regular-season games, with five starts to his name. His most recent stint was with the Cleveland Browns, where he started two games last season. Prior to that, he played 28 games for the Las Vegas Raiders, starting three, after entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He also had brief tenures with the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers in 2025 and 2023, respectively.
