Brewers Fans Steal the Show in NLCS Game 1 with Unique Outfits

At American Family Field on Sunday, October 11, the Milwaukee Brewers hosted the Los Angeles Dodgers for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. While the players brought their best, the fans in attendance matched the intensity with an array of distinctive and meaningful outfits.

Among the standout pieces was a denim jacket meticulously hand-embroidered by Elle, the fiancée of Brewers starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski. According to Caroline Rhyner, whose husband works at a sports card and memorabilia shop that Misiorowski and Elle frequent, Elle is known for customizing her own clothing, including a Brewers jacket and pants adorned with patches spelling out her fiancé's last name. For Rhyner's birthday, her husband commissioned Elle to create a custom jacket, a project that took three months to complete. The jacket features Rhyner's last name on the upper back, a depiction of American Family Field in the center, a baseball above, beer cans that spell out 'Brewers' below, and wheat detailing. The front showcases a Brewers pennant and Misiorowski's signature, which Elle embroidered over. 'She needs to get a business or something, because this is like incredible,' Rhyner remarked.

Carol Kok, a lifelong Brewers fan, also sported a custom ensemble. Her daughter used a Cricut to customize a pinstripe Brewers jersey for her, featuring the number 82 on both the front and back. Instead of a name on the back, the jersey reads 'not over it,' a reference to the team's 1982 World Series appearance, where they fell to the St. Louis Cardinals. 'I'm not over 1982 World Series, and not winning,' Kok explained. She paired the jersey with a skort made by 'a very nice lady,' and accessorized with a 1982 championship ring from her son, Brewers sunglasses, a 'Win Our Way' pin, and Brewers earrings. 'I'm here to see the Brewers win and we're going to take it on to the World Series,' said Kok, a Kenosha resident.

Jackelyn Wicklund, a Brewers fan since childhood, attended the game dressed as a baseball. 'I actually have it for times like these,' said Wicklund, a Plymouth resident. She had previously worn the costume to a contest, which she won. She complemented the outfit with dangling baseball earrings from Amazon and eye makeup in Brewers colors with sparkles.

Nine-year-old Claire Roberts, whose favorite part of Brewers games is the Famous Racing Sausages, wore navy overalls covered with the mascots. She paired them with a light blue long-sleeve shirt that matched her Converse sneakers, along with a navy bow. When asked if she had a favorite Racing Sausage, she replied, 'No, I like 'em all.'

Scott Peters went all out with a cartoonishly large blue hat featuring Brewers patches he added himself, a giant gold chain from Las Vegas with a light-up Brew Crew charm, and a massive foam ball-in-glove logo covered in autographs hanging from it. He also wore Brewers basketball shorts, a jersey, Brewers-colored sneakers, Barrelman sunglasses, and Brewers rainbow wristbands. Robin Peters, named after Robin Yount, sported pinstriped white overalls with the ball-in-glove logo on the bib pocket, a Brewers belt bag decorated with blue pom-poms on each side, Brewers bling on her wrists, Brewers shades, and even Brewers blue nail polish. 'I wore these bibs the last few times we won, so this is my rally. This is what I'm going to keep wearing,' she said. 'We've been Brewers fans forever. We don't live too far. And, this is our dream is to go to the World Series. We got this. Yeah, Brewers!'

The Brewers emerged victorious over the Dodgers in Game 1. Game 2 is scheduled for Monday, October 12, also at American Family Field. The series will then move to Dodger Stadium for Games 3, 4, and a potential Game 5. If a Game 6 is necessary, both teams would return to Milwaukee, where Game 7 would also be played if needed.
