There is no question that the Atlanta Braves will be buyers at the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline.
The Braves are currently sitting at the top of the NL East standings with a 61-42 record.
Only the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers have better records than the Braves, so it is clear that they are in a position to add to their roster.
One of the Braves' biggest needs heading toward the trade deadline is starting pitching help.
The Braves' rotation has dealt with numerous injuries throughout the season, so they could use another a high-impact starter.
Because of this, ESPN's Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel named the Braves among the best trade fits for Minnesota Twins star pitcher Joe Ryan.
"Ryan was one of the lone survivors after the Twins' teardown last deadline -- and Minnesota was deep into discussions on deals involving him, as well.
So, a move would surprise nobody, particularly considering that Ryan looks better than ever this season," Passan and McDaniel wrote.
"Best fits: Cubs, Padres, A's, Diamondbacks, Braves, White Sox, Nationals, Blue Jays, Cardinals." With the Braves' rotation needing a big boost, it would make all the sense in the world for them to acquire Ryan from the Twins.
He would be a major addition to the front half of their rotation and would only make the Braves more legitimate contenders heading toward the postseason.
With Ryan being a star pitcher who is under team control through next season, the Twins will want a significant return for him in any potential move.
Yet, it would be worth the price for the Braves when noting that they are looking to win the World Series this fall.
In 21 games this season with the Twins, Ryan has a 6-6 record, a 3.38 ERA, and 131 strikeouts.
With numbers like these, he would be a strong pickup for Atlanta.
