Boston College Hockey Secures Commitment from USNTDP Forward Sam Lee

The Boston College men's hockey program has added a commitment from U.S. National Team Development Program forward Sam Lee, who revealed his decision through an Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon. In the post, Lee expressed his excitement with the phrase, "Staying home #goeagles."

Lee, a native of Woburn, Massachusetts, is currently in his first season with the USNTDP U17 Team. During the 2026-27 campaign, he has appeared in four games but has yet to register a goal or assist, and he holds a minus-2 rating. Before joining the USNTDP, Lee spent the 2025-26 season at Belmont Hill School, where he skated in 31 games and recorded 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points.

The 16-year-old has also been part of the Boston Jr. Eagles 13U and 14U teams, as well as the Minutemen Flames 15U team. Additionally, Lee is a prospect of the Moncton Wildcats, who selected him in the third round of the 2026 QMJHL Draft.

Lee becomes one of 14 commitments for the Eagles over the next few seasons. He joins a group of forwards that includes Rdolfs Brzkalns (2027), Noah Davidson (2027), Graham Jones (2027), Timothy Kazda (2027), Rocco Pelosi (2027), Finnegan Sears (2027), Jack Queally (2028), and Benjamin Veitch (2028). On defense, the Eagles have secured commitments from Jake Boguniecki (2027), Cameron Chartrand (2027), Callum Croskery (2027), and Sam Wathier (2027), while Ryan Cameron (2027) is the lone goaltender in the class.

Boston College is set to open its season on Friday night against Alaska at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Key Analysis

Lee's commitment marks another addition to Boston College's growing pipeline of young talent. While he has yet to record a point at the USNTDP level, his previous production at Belmont Hill demonstrates his offensive potential. Staying close to home could be a significant factor in his development, and the Eagles' coaching staff will look to mold him into a key contributor in the years ahead.
