The Boston Bruins have pulled back the curtain on their Hometown Remix uniforms for the 2026-27 season, a special edition created in collaboration with Fanatics across all 32 NHL teams to spotlight each community's local culture.
The Bruins' version features a brown base with gold accents and the team name displayed across the chest. Two shoulder patches resembling Ivy League logos add a distinctive touch. According to the team's press release, these are the first all-brown uniforms in franchise history since 1924, designed to pay tribute to the college hockey scene in Boston.
"College hockey is a big part of Boston's identity, and the tradition and success of the programs in our city have helped make this one of the best hockey communities in the world," said Bruins President Cam Neely in the official release. "The Varsity Sweater is a great way to recognize that history while bringing back elements of the Bruins' original look. It's a unique jersey that celebrates both our team's history and the strong connection between the Bruins and Boston's hockey community."
The uniforms will make their on-ice debut on Nov. 12 when the Bruins host the Montreal Canadiens at 7:00 p.m. ET on NESN. Boston will wear the jerseys a total of 12 times this season, including home games against the Minnesota Wild (Nov. 14), Toronto Maple Leafs (Nov. 27 and Jan. 30), Detroit Red Wings (Dec. 5), New Jersey Devils (Dec. 12), Carolina Hurricanes (Jan. 12), Anaheim Ducks (Feb. 15), and Pittsburgh Penguins (March 6). The Bruins will also don the special sweaters on the road against the New York Islanders (Dec. 22), Montreal Canadiens (Jan. 6), and Detroit Red Wings (Jan. 9).
