The Buffalo Bills kicked off their Week 5 preparations on Thursday, but wide receiver DJ Moore was not on the field. Moore is dealing with a shoulder injury, and his status for Monday's matchup with the Los Angeles Rams remains uncertain.
Moore originally hurt his shoulder in Week 4 during a 29-26 home loss to the New England Patriots. He exited that game in the first half and did not return, finishing with just one reception for 11 yards on two targets.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Moore did not practice on Thursday because of the shoulder issue. Schefter shared the update in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The 29-year-old wideout is in his first season with Buffalo after being traded from the Chicago Bears in the offseason. The Bills sent a 2026 second-round pick to Chicago and received Moore along with a 2026 fifth-round selection.
Moore made an immediate impact in his Bills debut, racking up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown on five catches and eight targets in a 36-31 road win over the Houston Texans in Week 1. However, he injured his shoulder the following week in a 41-31 home victory against the Detroit Lions, finishing that game without a catch or a target from quarterback Josh Allen.
He bounced back in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers, recording 67 receiving yards on six receptions and 10 targets in a 24-16 win.
Regardless of whether Moore suits up on Monday, Buffalo's offense will pose a significant challenge for the Rams. The Bills currently lead the NFL with an average of 31.8 points per game.
