The Toronto Maple Leafs are ushering in a new era with several fresh faces both on the bench and the ice for the upcoming campaign. Among the notable arrivals are former Stanley Cup-winning goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and forward Nick Paul, both of whom joined the organization through separate deals orchestrated by general manager John Chayka.
Another newcomer is Jack Roslovic, who inked a two-year, $8 million deal with the Leafs after previously suiting up for the Edmonton Oilers. Roslovic has already expressed that the transition has been smooth, thanks in large part to the guidance of team captain Auston Matthews.
According to Roslovic, he has had multiple conversations with Matthews, who has been instrumental in helping him adjust to his new environment. "Yeah, I've talked to Auston a lot. He's been awesome, helping me figure out where to live, what to do around town, and even introducing me to the staff and people around the organization," Roslovic shared. "It's really fun when you get the chance to play with someone you once had a lot of success with. I've heard their locker room is really strong, and we've already been chatting in the group messages, getting to know everyone. It seems like it's going to be a good time, and everyone's ready to get to work. So it's exciting."

Roslovic's familiarity with Matthews stems from their time together with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, where they were teammates. Last season with the Oilers, Roslovic tallied 21 goals and 15 assists in 68 games, adding an assist in the Western Conference Quarterfinal before Edmonton was eliminated by the Anaheim Ducks. His career began after being selected 25th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2015 NHL Draft, and he has since played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, and Carolina Hurricanes, amassing 123 goals and 173 assists in 594 regular-season games, plus three goals and 15 assists in 51 playoff contests.
Roslovic is just one of several new additions to the Maple Leafs' roster. Alongside Bobrovsky and Paul, Toronto has also brought in Darren Raddysh, Colton Sissons, Teddy Blueger, Brandon Duhaime, and Vinni Lettieri. Additionally, rookie forward Gavin McKenna, the first overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft out of Penn State University, is expected to earn a spot on the team.
