CHICAGO, IL Army West Point Baseballs Andrew Berg has earned an undrafted free agent opportunity with the Chicago White Sox organization.
Army won two Patriot League Tournament titles and three Patriot League regular season championships during Bergs four years with the program, including a regular season crown in 2026.
The Black Knights were also 3-1 in baseball star series vs.
rival Navy between 2023-26.
As a senior in 2026, Berg made 13 pitching appearances, all of which being starts.
All but three of his starts were six innings or longer, with five starts of seven innings or longer.
Berg was Armys leader in ERA at 4.03, innings pitched with 82.2 and strikeouts with 58, and was named to Second Team All-Patriot League after the season.
After graduating in May, Berg enjoyed a 15-appearance stint with the MLB Draft Leagues Trenton Thunder, where he recorded a 0.75 ERA and 33 strikeouts over 24.0 innings pitched.
Berg is the 25th West Point graduate to accept an opportunity with an MLB organization.
His older brother and 2024 graduate Derek Berg was drafted in the 10th Round of the 2024 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, before teammates Tanner Gresham and Sam Ruta received free agent opportunities with the Philadelphia Phillies and Kansas City Royals, respectively.
