Arizona vs. West Virginia: Live Stream, TV Channel, Start Time for Week 6 Clash

In Week 6, the Arizona Wildcats, under head coach Brent Brennan, will journey to Morgantown to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday morning. This marks Arizona's second conference road game of the year, following a 28-17 loss at BYU in Week 2 where they were shut out in the second half.

Scoring is expected to be plentiful in this matchup, as West Virginia possesses one of the nation's most explosive offenses, especially on the ground, while their defense has struggled mightily.

Arizona's defense will be tested again by a formidable rushing attack. Last week, the Wildcats limited a Cincinnati offense that averaged 270 rushing yards per game to just 87 yards, many of which came in the fourth quarter with Arizona holding a 30-point lead.

"We knew they came into the game averaging around 270 rushing yards a game, and so the goal was to keep them under 100," Arizona linebacker Chase Kennedy said after the game. "We knew we had a great chance to win if we did that."

That same challenge awaits Arizona on Saturday, but it will be even tougher on the road against a West Virginia ground game that is even more prolific. The Mountaineers average an astounding 294 rushing yards per game, third-best in the FBS, and their 1,470 total rushing yards rank first nationally.

A significant portion of that production comes from dual-threat quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr., who has amassed 574 rushing yards and an FBS-leading 11 rushing touchdowns. Brennan and the Wildcats must find a way to disrupt Hawkins in the pocket without allowing him to extend drives with his legs.

On the other side, Noah Fifita will look to capitalize on West Virginia's defensive woes. The Mountaineers surrendered 45 points on the road at Iowa State last week and 41 at home to Oklahoma State the week before. This is a very weak defensive unit, which should create ample opportunities for Fifita and the Arizona offense.

However, the Wildcats will be without their top wideouts—Tre Spivey, Gio Richardson, and Chris Hunter—who are all sidelined for Saturday's game. Despite that, Fifita has spread the ball around effectively all season, with key contributions from Isaiah Mizell, Brandon Phelps, Caleb 'Jet' Smith, and Rodney Gallagher. Additionally, Arizona's running game has improved recently, and a strong performance from Kedrick Reescano and/or Quincy Craig could be pivotal in securing a Wildcats victory and a 5-1 start.

Key Analysis

The outcome of this game likely hinges on Arizona's ability to contain West Virginia's dynamic rushing attack, led by Hawkins. If the Wildcats can replicate their performance against Cincinnati and limit the Mountaineers on the ground, they stand a good chance of outscoring a porous West Virginia defense. Conversely, if Hawkins and Co. find running room, Arizona may struggle to keep pace. The absence of top receivers adds pressure on Fifita and the running backs to execute efficiently.
