Argus Leader readers spent the past week voting on the Mount Rushmore of South Dakota high school football offensive linemen, and the final results have been released.
The top five vote-getters separated themselves from the pack, with a tie occurring for fourth place.
Sioux Falls Roosevelt's Mason McCormick, Harrisburg's Trever Smit, and Brandon Valley's Hudson Parliament claimed the top three spots, while Pierre's Grey Zabel and Parkston's Riley Reiff shared the fourth position.
Detailed Look at the Selections
Mason McCormick (Sioux Falls Roosevelt, Class of 2018): McCormick earned First Team All-State honors at Sioux Falls Roosevelt and helped the Rough Riders reach the Class 11AAA state title game during his senior season. He also excelled in track and field. At South Dakota State, McCormick garnered All-American accolades over his final four seasons, including First Team All-American in 2022 and 2023, and was named the FCS Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2023. He was an All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection from 2020 to 2023 and served as team captain from 2021 to 2023. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has appeared in all 34 games over two NFL seasons at guard, starting 31, and has been penalized only three times in 1,970 offensive snaps.
Trever Smit (Harrisburg, Class of 2027): Smit currently serves as Harrisburg's left tackle and is dominant in the run game. Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 320 pounds, he anchors the Tigers' offensive line. He possesses the speed to get around defenders and work upfield in the running game while maintaining a solid pocket for the passing attack. Smit remains an uncommitted recruit.
Hudson Parliament (Brandon Valley, Class of 2026): Parliament is one of the most decorated football players in South Dakota history, regardless of position. He is a two-time South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year, three-time First Team All-State selection, three-time state Offensive Lineman of the Year, four-year starter, and a 2025 Class 11AAA state champion. He also won three state powerlifting titles. Over his final three years at Brandon Valley, Parliament recorded 267 pancake blocks and did not allow a sack in his last two seasons. The 6-foot-4, 313-pound lineman will join Iowa as a first-year player in 2026.
Grey Zabel (Pierre, Class of 2020): Zabel was a key part of Pierre's Class 11AA dynasty, starting on title teams from 2017 to 2019 that posted a combined 31-5 record. He was a two-time All-State performer and also contributed 84 tackles, 25 for loss, and 14 sacks on defense. At North Dakota State, he became a consensus FCS All-American in 2024. Zabel played in 62 games as a Bison, starting the last 31 and making 41 starts overall. His standout 2023 season earned him an invitation to the 2025 NFL Combine and Senior Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks selected him in the first round (18th overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft. He started all 17 regular season games in 2025, was penalized five times in 1,051 snaps, and won a Super Bowl.
Riley Reiff (Parkston, Class of 2008): Reiff was the South Dakota Gatorade Player of the Year in 2007 as a senior and a two-time Elite 45 choice. He was a First Team All-State tight end as a senior and a First Team All-State defensive end as a sophomore and junior. He played college football at Iowa, where he became a consensus All-American as a junior in 2011 and earned First Team All-Big Ten honors. He was Second Team All-Big Ten in 2010. The Detroit Lions selected him in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. Reiff played 12 years in the NFL, starting 149 of 164 games. He played 9,316 snaps in his career and was flagged just 36 times.
